Abstract

The study was conducted to evaluate the levels of maladaptive perfectionism in the students of Regional Science High School for Region VI and use this as the basis for developing the HinayAnay Initiative: Mindfulness Meditative Program for RSHS-VI Students for the academic year 2021-2022. A survey questionnaire consisting of 3 sets of statements wherein respondents provide what is being asked through an online platform and was used to accumulate information regarding the socio-demographic of each respondent, level of Maladaptive Perfectionism in RSHS-VI Students, and level of Acceptability Rating Checklist of HinayAnay Initiative: Mindfulness Meditation Program. Data were gathered, analyzed, and presented through frequency count, sum, percentage, and mean. As the basis for the HinayAnay Initiative, the level of Maladaptive Perfectionism was discovered to be dysfunctional perfectionism with a mean score of 96.93. The result indicates that students are susceptible to developing negative habits to cope with severe distress and overwhelming thoughts and emotions. To accommodate this finding by reducing maladaptive perfectionism tendencies, Set A and Set B of Mindfulness Programs with quarterly movie screenings was created which help achieve mental clarity. From the level of the Acceptability Rating Checklist, its content and design were found to be “very highly acceptable”, while it is “highly acceptable” in terms of its functionality. Overall, the program is very highly acceptable which implies that this can help maladaptive perfectionist students how to mindfully meditate since this program was based on credible sources, contains creative graphic design, and has an organized navigation system.
