The Analyses of “Taras Bulba” and Main Approaches to Nikolai Gogol`S Writing Style

The article is devoted to the features of the characterization of time and images of heroes in the novel “Taras Bulba”. Modeling characters such as prototypology, the one hand and different allusions to the Bible plot, Gothic works, folklore legends are revealed in this article. It is shown that “the hero of the epoch” is created by a contradictory unity of Asian and Europian, Christian and pagan, masculine and feminine, personal and typical features belonging to different poles. But the very diversity of those characteristics that created the COSSACKS presupposes the possibility of their decay or reciprocal destruction. N.V.Gogol wrote this novel due to historical events in Europe following with in Russia. Gogol’s work has special space-time continuum correlated with the structure of artistic images. Thus, the name and nickname of the title character of the story represent a condradictory combination of male and female.
