Abstract

The article scientifically substantiates the Uzbeks of the Amu Darya delta occupy a significant place in the population of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, they mainly live in the Kungirot, Kipchak, Khojeylin, Takhta-Kopir, Shabboz (Beruni) and other regions, as well as the history of the settlement of Uzbeks in the lower reaches of the Amu Darya.

To describe this group of Uzbeks, in addition to using field ethnographic materials, historical data were also used to summarize the available data describing the history of their appearance in the Khorezm region and settlement in the lower reaches of the Amu Darya delta. The appearance of the Uzbeks in Khorezm was generally justified, based on sources, by the beginning of the 16th century.
