Classifying the Efficiency Indicators of Horizontal Drilling-Blasting Technology for Benches

Abstract

As it is known, in the processes of open-pit mining of mineral deposits, the opening of the quarry area, the formation of capital deposits and steps is provided by drilling and blasting. Also, in the mining of ore deposits, since the strength level of rocks is much higher than that of layered coal deposits, in drilling processes, not only the ability to correctly select the performance indicators of drilling machines, but also the natural location of the rocks (joining) conditions, based on their physical and mechanical properties, the correct direction of drilling-blasting processes is also of particular importance. Drilling-blasting is considered one of the main processes of open-pit mining, while the use of explosives alone accounts for about 5% of the cost of costs spent on manufacturing processes, while the total cost of drilling and blasting together can take up to 30% of all costs. It should be noted that labor costs and financial expenses directed for drilling-blasting work occupy places after transportation work.
