Abstract

This article presents a comparative analysis of complement speech acts in Uzbek and English languages. Speech acts are fundamental to communication, serving as tools for expressing intentions, making requests, giving commands, and conveying emotions. Complements play a crucial role in enhancing the communicative power of speech acts by providing additional information or context. Through a cross-linguistic examination, this study aims to uncover similarities and differences in the use of complement speech acts between Uzbek and English.
