Abstract

This paper presents a comparative analysis of paralinguistic elements in the short stories of O. Henry
and A. Chekhov. Using the examples of "Which of the Three " and "The Gift of the Magi," the authors of this paper examine
the frequency with which these elements are used to convey character images.
