Abstract

This article analyzes the social impact of “fake” information and its role in shaping public consciousness. In particular, the mechanisms of spreading false information, its influence on socio-political and cultural processes, and the possibilities of forming an informed information consumption culture are examined. The study explores global experiences, effective methods for combating disinformation, ways to improve media literacy, and strategies to ensure conscious information consumption. Furthermore, the role of government policies and public oversight in countering information manipulation is analyzed.
