Abstract

This article explores the historical evolution of female images in Uzbek literature, their transformation from traditional images to modern ones. It explores how the cultural, social and political changes that have occurred over the centuries have influenced the portrayal of women in literary works. Starting with the rich tapestry of oral traditions and folk tales, the article emphasizes the early archetypes of women as symbols of virtue, sacrifice and endurance.

Due to significant historical changes in Uzbekistan, including the influence of colonialism and the Soviet era, female images began to reflect a wide range of social changes, which revealed a complex interconnection between tradition and modernity. The article examined the main literary figures and movements that shaped women's roles in literature, highlighting how female authors contributed to redefining these characters and challenging patriarchal norms.

Analyzing various artistic texts, the article reflects the gradual emergence of multidimensional female characters that embody agency, independence and various experiences. This concludes with a reflection on the current landscape of Uzbek literature, where modern female voices continue to expand borders and defend gender equality, and as a result enrich the story of the representation of women in the literary heritage of Uzbekistan. This study provides valuable insights into the importance of female characters as a reflection of evolving social relationships in relation to gender and identity.
