Abstract

The Grammar-Translation Method (GTM), a language teaching approach prevalent in the 19th and early 20th centuries, is characterized by a strong emphasis on grammatical rules, vocabulary memorization, and translation exercises. While its dominance has waned in the face of more communicative approaches, the GTM's core principles continue to inform certain aspects of language pedagogy.
