The thesis examines the methodology of using authentic materials in teaching Russian as a foreign language in philological fields. Authentic texts serve not only as a means of language acquisition but also as a source of cultural information necessary for the formation of intercultural competence. The use of such materials contributes to a better assimilation of vocabulary and grammar in context, the development of foreign language speech perception skills, and the adaptation of students to the real conditions of the language environment.
