Abstract

Today one of the most important skill is cultural communication in education as classrooms become increasingly diverse and are interconnected through globalization and digital technologies. This research studies the influence intercultural training and online activities promoting learners’ cultural intelligence and intercultural competence in education. By implementing a mixed-methods approach, 50 students and 4 teachers from different cultural backgrounds took part in a six-week research, which involved workshops, collaborative projects, and reflective journaling. Quantitative data revealed significant improvements in students’ cultural intelligence, particularly in their metacognitive and motivational abilities, and in their performance on intercultural communication tasks. Qualitative data from student journals and teacher interviews confirmed these findings, highlighting increased empathy, adaptability, and engagement in intercultural interactions. Teachers reported positive shifts in classroom dynamics and student confidence, while also identifying challenges related to digital logistics and time coordination. The findings underscore the importance of embedding cross-cultural communication training into school curricula and call for systemic support to sustain such initiatives. This study contributes to the growing body of evidence that intentional cross-cultural communication development enhances not only students' global competencies but also the overall quality of educational interactions.
