Abstract

This article explores the issues of professional and methodological training of future teachers of fine arts through a systematic approach to mastering drawing and painting. The study emphasizes the importance of these disciplines not only as tools for developing technical skills but also as instruments for cultivating visual thinking, aesthetic perception, and pedagogical flexibility. Particular attention is given to the analysis of effective teaching methods, including problem-based and research-oriented tasks, heuristic and constructive approaches, as well as the method of visual demonstration. Contemporary forms of practice-oriented learning - such as master classes, creative projects, and observational studies - are considered as essential for shaping an individual methodological style in future educators.

The research involved second - and third - year undergraduate students of the “Fine Arts and Engineering Graphics” program from three pedagogical universities in Uzbekistan: Tashkent State Pedagogical University (TSPU), Andijan State Pedagogical Institute (ASPI), and Gulistan State Pedagogical Institute (GSPI). Experimental data confirmed the effectiveness of the proposed methodological strategies in developing students’ professional competencies, including their ability for artistic analysis, independent creativity, and pedagogical interpretation. The study also highlights the relevance of integrating digital and multimedia technologies into the educational process. The findings and generalizations presented may be useful for developing curricula, academic programs, and professional development courses for art education instructors.
