Abstract

This article analyzes the pedagogical views of Mahmudkhoja Behbudi and their significance in modern education and upbringing. As one of the leading figures of the Jadid movement, Behbudi called on the nation to embrace knowledge and enlightenment. In his works, he emphasized the need to reform school education, the inclusion of secular subjects, and the crucial role of the teacher. The article examines Behbudi’s pedagogical ideas as reflected in his works such as Padarkush, Risola-yi Maktab, and others. Particular attention is given to his vision of harmonizing national values, spirituality, and modernity within the educational process. The author compares Behbudi’s views with the current educational system. The article also highlights the compatibility between Behbudi’s ideas and contemporary pedagogical approaches. The research is based on historical sources, academic literature, and archival materials. The findings suggest that Behbudi’s legacy provides rich pedagogical insights applicable to today’s educational practices. This article is useful for educators, researchers, and professionals in the field of education.
