Abstract

This article analyzes the interaction between folklore and written literature, in particular the question of how folk images are reinterpreted in modern literature. Folklore has served as an important support for written literature as a resource that embodies the historical memory, national values and aesthetic views of the people. The creative use of folklore elements in Uzbek poetry of the 20th century and the period of independence expanded, and such heroes as Alpomish, Goroglu, Ravshan became symbols of the new era. Also, folk songs, proverbs, ritual values were harmonized with modern artistic thinking, becoming an important aesthetic tool in the perception of the national self, the restoration of historical memory and the expression of the people's psyche. The article covers the philosophical, educational and artistic-aesthetic functions of folkloric images in modern literature on a scientific basis.
