Abstract

This article explores the etymological development of headwear names in English and Uzbek. By analyzing their historical origins, morphological structures, and cultural connotations, the study reveals both common and distinctive features in how each language conceptualizes and names various forms of head coverings. The findings demonstrate that while English terminology largely reflects material, shape, and function, Uzbek headwear names are more culturally embedded, reflecting national traditions, social status, and symbolic meanings.
