Abstract

The article analyzes the essence of defining goals and objectives in the implementation of educational functions of training sessions in higher education. It emphasizes that educational goals go beyond the acquisition of professional knowledge and skills, aiming also at students’ moral, social, spiritual, and civic development. The study outlines the criteria for setting effective educational goals based on the SMART principle — specificity, measurability, attainability, realism, and time limitation. It highlights that educational activities help to form independent thinking, responsibility, empathy, patriotism, and professional ethics in students. The article describes various modern pedagogical methods, such as interactive learning, case studies, interdisciplinary integration, and practical projects, that contribute to implementing educational functions effectively. Furthermore, it explores how volunteering, social projects, and student self-governance foster students’ social activity, leadership, and civic responsibility. The author concludes that the integration of educational functions in the higher education process ensures the development of well-rounded, competitive, and socially responsible individuals capable of contributing to sustainable societal development.
