Abstract

The word ‘teacher’ covers all those persons in schools who are responsible for the education of pupils. The society recognizes teaching as one of the noblest of all professions. The teacher is said to be the intellectual and spiritual father of the students. He leads the students from the darkness of ignorance to the light of knowledge and helps to keep the lamp of civilization burning. He turns the student’s instincts of animosity into civilized beings. He converts the raw metal of pupils into gold. So regarding this situation teacher development very essential because it improves educational quality, equips teachers with new skills and confidence, helps them adapt to technological changes and ultimately benefits students by providing better learning experiences. The quality of education is directly linked to the quality of teachers and their continuous development leads to more effective learning opportunities for students. Pedagogical skills helps the teachers update their skills, attitude and approaches to include new teaching techniques, addressing contemporary issues and adapting to new educational research and objectives.
