Abstract

This article presents a comprehensive comparative analysis of intellectual property (IP) legislation in Central Asian countries and the European Union, with a particular focus on the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on IP regimes. The study employs a qualitative research methodology, including document analysis and expert interviews, to explore the similarities, differences, and emerging trends in IP protection across these regions. The research reveals significant disparities in the development and implementation of IP laws, with EU countries generally having more advanced and harmonized systems. Central Asian countries, while making progress, face challenges in updating their IP frameworks to address modern technological advancements, particularly in the realm of AI. The findings suggest that while there are opportunities for Central Asian countries to learn from EU experiences, contextual factors necessitate tailored approaches to IP legislation. This study contributes to the ongoing dialogue on international IP law harmonization and provides insights for policymakers in both regions.
