Abstract
This article provides a legal analysis of liability issues for harm caused to the life and health of citizens. The author compares historical and modern legal approaches, with a particular focus on the influence of the Muslim legal system on this issue. The article examines the issues of material and non-material compensation in cases of harm to health, as well as methods for determining liability within the framework of international and national legal norms. Punishments for harm under Islamic law and their place in the modern legal system are discussed. Furthermore, the article highlights principles of damage compensation in civil law and modern approaches, including insurance mechanisms and state compensation measures. By analyzing legal practices in various countries, the author provides important conclusions and recommendations for Uzbekistan’s legal system. The article is relevant not only for legal scholars but also for professionals in the healthcare sector.
