Abstract
Sport tourism has emerged as a powerful driver of regional economic development in recent decades. It encompasses a wide range of activities, including hosting sporting events, attracting active sports participants, and promoting destinations through sport-related attractions. This article explores how sport tourism stimulates economic growth by creating jobs, increasing local revenue, enhancing infrastructure, and promoting the global visibility of regions. It also examines challenges such as seasonality, environmental impacts, and the need for strategic planning to ensure sustainable development. Through international and local examples, the study highlights sport tourism’s potential as a catalyst for long-term regional prosperity.
