Abstract

This article examines international standards for electoral dispute resolution, focusing on universally recognized treaties and documents such as the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, the Convention on the Political Rights of Women, and the OSCE Copenhagen Document. It analyzes the role of these standards in ensuring transparency, fairness, and legitimacy of elections through effective legal remedies and independent tribunals. Special attention is paid to the Electoral Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan, its compliance with international norms, and the challenges that remain in achieving full alignment with global best practices. The article highlights the necessity of further reforms, including the introduction of specialized electoral courts, to enhance transparency, fairness, and public trust in the electoral process of Uzbekistan.
