Abstract

This article examines the concept and essence of the principles of employment law as reflected in the Constitution, Labor Code, and related legislative acts of the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as in international labor standards. Special attention is given to the principles of freedom of labor, equality, prohibition of forced and child labor, and protection of workers’ rights. The study compares normative-legal, doctrinal, and comprehensive approaches to defining labor law principles, highlighting their methodological, interpretative, and regulatory functions. The role of principles in judicial practice, law-making, and modern labor market reforms is analyzed, with comparative insights from foreign labor legislation and International Labour Organization (ILO) standards.
