Nonspecific Ulcerative Colitis: Modern Approaches to Diagnosis and Treatment

Abstract
Nonspecific ulcerative colitis remains one of the most difficult problems in gastroenterology today. This pathology is based on chronic nonspecific diffuse inflammatory and ulcerative damage to the mucous and submucosal layer of the rectum and colon, which determines the clinical picture,manifested in the form of abdominal pain, tenesmus, constipation, intestinal bleeding, frequent loose stools mixed with blood and pus. Also, nonspecific ulcerative colitis can manifest itself with various extraintestinal manifestations, which causes certain difficulties in the early diagnosis and treatment of this disease. The article talks about the main points of reference for general practitioners and gastroenterologists dealing with this disease.
