Abstract
The COVID-19 pandemic, caused by the novel coronavirus SARS-CoV-2, has swept across the globe, challenging healthcare systems and posing unprecedented public health threats. COVID-19 presents with a wide spectrum of symptoms, ranging from mild respiratory illness to severe pneumonia and multi-organ failure. As the world grapples with this ongoing crisis, it becomes increasingly clear that certain populations may be at higher risk for severe disease and adverse outcomes.
