Abstract
The case of an unobliterated vitelline duct, at the birth of a child, attention is paid to an
abnormally thickened umbilical cord and a slightly dilated ring. The fall of the umbilical cord is often
delayed, and after this has happened, a fistulous opening with bright mucous membrane and intestinal
discharge is found in the center of the umbilical fossa.
