Abstract

Endometriosis is a chronic progressive estrogen-dependent disease a condition characterized by high prevalence,especially among women with pelvic pain (40–80%) and infertility (25–80%). Pathogenesis of the disease multifactorial, but endometrial dissemination to ectopic areas with subsequent formation The existence of endometrioid heterotopias is undeniable. The role of stem cells in this process has been proven. The choice of treatment methods for endometriosis is wide, however there is no single approach and it is determined by the individually, taking into account the purpose (treatment of pelvic pain or non- fecundity).
