Abstract

When the spleen is injured by blunt objects, the organ experiences various types of
deformation, which leads to the formation of ruptures that have a characteristic morphology in the zone
of compression and stretching of the organ. The greatest difficulties in the expert assessment of injuries
to the parenchymal organs of the abdomen are cases of blunt abdominal trauma with isolated damage to
any organ, in the absence of visible damage to the skin and skeletal bones, the absence of data on the
clinical picture and circumstances of injury, which is typical for the action of hard blunt objects with
limited surface and is often a “sectional find” when examining corpses without “visible signs of violent
death.”
