Abstract
This article explores the evolving role of non-governmental non-profit organizations (NGOs) in Uzbekistan, emphasizing their contributions to civil society, public oversight, and partnerships with the state. Based on extensive public opinion surveys conducted by the Republican Center for Public Opinion Research "Ijtimoiy Fikr," the study highlights the public's perception of NGOs as essential players in addressing social issues, protecting rights, and enhancing public engagement. It also examines legislative frameworks, the role of mahallas, and the collaboration between NGOs and state institutions. The findings suggest that strengthening NGOs through legal and institutional support fosters democratic development and ensures greater social protection, economic growth, and civic participation.
