Autonomic nervous system m[1] (from Latin vegetatio - excitement, from Latin vegetativus - plant), ANS, autonomic nervous system, ganglionic nervous system (from Latin ganglion - nerve ganglion), visceral nervous system (from Latin viscera - interiors), organ nervous system, celiac nervous system, autonomic nervous system (ANP) - part of the nervous system of the body, a complex of central and peripheral cellular structures that regulate the functional level of the body necessary for the adequate response of all its systems
