Features of Viral Conjunctivitis in Children
Main Article Content
Abstract
Conjunctivitis in children affects the conjunctiva, the mucous membrane that covers the outer part of the eyeball, as well as the back of the eyelids. The inflammatory process often begins due to an infection in the eyes, as well as strong irritation or allergies.
Conjunctivitis in children (if we talk about infectious options) is very contagious, and if hygiene conditions are not observed or treated carelessly, it is easily transferred to a healthy eye or from person to person. Failure to treat the disease is very dangerous and threatens with serious complications, such as inflammation of the cornea (keratitis) and keratitis, which in turn can even lead to blindness.
