Abstract

This study examined the relationship between academic achievement, orientation type, and perceptual speed in terms of preparing schoolchildren in the Wasit Governorate. To find out about students' average perception speeds and aesthetic goal orientations, the research used a quantitative methodology and the "Student Performance Data Set," a collection of secondary data. Performance markers for academic achievement, such as the amount of time spent in class, academic failures, parental education levels, and the final grade (G3), were among the data that were gathered. Findings showed that there is a positive relationship between the amount of time spent studying and the final grades, which implies the more time you devote to study the higher the academic performance. A strong implication of several failed attempts was a negative strong effect on grades, which means that previous academic disabilities usually affect current success.

The other finding of the study is linked to the education of the mother which positively affects student’s grades, and the education of the father does this in a less significant way. The outcomes of the research are complex. These consequences are supposed to make educators and policymakers focus on how to adapt teaching methods, on how to help those pupils who have already experienced schooling problems, and on how to engage parents, especially mothers, in the learning process. This research contributes to a deeper understanding of the factors influencing academic success, with potential applications in developing targeted interventions to improve educational outcomes in Wasit Governorate and beyond.
