Abstract

The article examines the distinctive characteristics of developing digital competence in prospective educators. It presents the findings and conclusions of research on the formation of digital competence in future teachers, emphasizing its significance in contemporary education. The study explores the social, ethical, and pedagogical implications of integrating digital technologies into the teaching and learning process. Digital competence is conceptualized as the ability to utilize digital technologies effectively and efficiently to achieve personal, social, and professional objectives. This competence encompasses a broad spectrum of skills, including computer literacy, information literacy, media literacy, and digital communication proficiency, all of which are essential for educators in the digital age.
