Abstract

This article provides a scientific analysis of the main primary sources used in Kazakh historiography to cover the history of the era of Amir Temur and their description. It studies written sources related to the Timurid era - chronicles, historical works and authors' approaches, and reveals their influence on the historical and cultural processes of Kazakhstan. Also, the research conducted by Kazakh historians, assessments of the personality of Temur and his political activities are analyzed from a scientific point of view. The article draws attention to the current issues in covering the history of the era of Amir Temur as an integral part of the general history of the Turkic peoples and shows the contribution of the Kazakh historical school in this regard.
