Main Article Content
Abstract
Eye allergies are common and becoming more widespread across the globe, affecting all age groups. These are conditions in which the immune system releases an overabundance of chemicals, following secretion of its mediators due to the exposure to certain environmental substances called allergens that induce a cascading inflammatory response within eye tissues. Healthcare professionals should be aware of the types, clinical presentations, pathophysiology and treatment approaches of allergic eye diseases.
